Speaker(s): Falco Valkenburg |

8:30 Continental breakfast 9:00 Solvency II – implications for pensions and captives – Falco Valkenburg 10:30 Questions Whether or not Solvency II applies to pensions and captives is a hot topic for many multinational companies in Europe. The jury is still out and many interested industry bodies are involved in the consultation process on this topic. Falco Valkenburg, a consultant and actuary with Towers Watson in the Netherlands, and who is a member of the Groupe Consultatif and the Chair of the Investment and Financial Risk Committee, will enlighten us on his perspective on this issue. He is in an ideal position to provide this perspective, as one of the observers on behalf of the Groupe of the EIOPA Workstream 2 (Solvency) discussions. This is part of the effort from EIOPA to respond to the call for advice from the European Commission on the revision of the European Pensions Directive. |
